This self-checking mystery puzzle helps students practice solving equations with variables on both sides. These problems do not contain distributive property. What makes it self-grading?
This mystery puzzle shows students immediately if they got the answer correct or not. If a student types in the correct answer, the cell in Google Sheets will turn green as well as pop up a piece of the picture. If student input the incorrect answer*, the cell turns red.
*Students will need to accurately follow the format in which the answer needs to be written: Just put the number value. (Students are told this in the directions on the Mystery Puzzle) If they input the correct answer, but add a space, the puzzle might not read it as accurate.
