Do your students struggle with how to find the hypotenuse of a triangle? Or even struggle with on grade level math? This activity walks students through how to find the hypotenuse of a triangle using scaffolded questions.
Included in How to Find the Hypotenuse of a Triangle:
- Common Core Standards

- Worksheet 2 (Versions A & B)

- 1 Self-grading Google Forms

The Pythagorean Theorem is an important 8th grade concept! This activity can be used to scaffold the Pythagorean Theorem by using Worksheet 1, Version A first and then using Worksheet 2 Version B! Or differentiate by giving some students Version A and some Version B or either worksheet. The possibilities are endless…well, almost. See the preview for details.

More information about this Resource:
I love this activity! It will help your students learn to use the Pythagorean Theorem in finding the hypotenuse length. The questions include whole numbers and decimal to strength conceptual understanding. In addition, short answer questions are present to deepen students’ understanding of finding the hypotenuse.
This resource is a printable resource with a DIGITAL worksheet via Google Slides! Meaning, whether you are teaching in person, online, or hybrid, I’ve got you covered. It also includes a corresponding Google Forms that is great for assigning to students as homework, additional practice, or even as an assessment. I have set up this Google Forms to be self-grading, minus the short answer question. It includes all of the same questions as the worksheet, but in a different form. My goal is to make your Pythagorean Theorem Unit a breeze to teach!
