These task cards help students practice finding common differences, creating equations, and finding terms. Whether students are learning about Arithmetic Sequences, or students need a review, this product will help students build confidence in their mathematical abilities.

Included in this resource:

  • Two Self-Grading Google Forms
  • Eight Task Cards (quarter and full sized)
  • Answer Key

You can print them out for your classroom or assign the Google Forms for online learning. The Google Forms is a scaffolded activity that starts off with multiple choice and then leads into short answer. The answer key is included in the Google Forms, so it self-grades each student’s work!

For example, here are some problems you will see on the task cards:

“Identify the common difference.” or “Write the equation that represents the sequence.” or “Find the 8th term.”

Also included are tables that represent the sequence. For these, students will find the common difference and term 0 to create the equation. So whether students are learning about Arithmetic Sequences, or students need a review, this product will help students build confidence in their mathematical abilities.

These Arithmetic Sequences Task Cards are a print and digital resource.

The 8 task cards and “Helpful Hints” page can be printed. (See below for my best practice!) The Google Forms starts off with multiple choice questions and is followed by short answer questions. In fact, it is also self-grading! This means it provides immediate feedback for students and less work for you!

Why implement task cards over a worksheet?

Currently, I use task cards in my class almost every day! My favorite part about them is this: Once you have them, they are prepped and ready to go at a moment’s notice. I laminate them and keep them in Michael’s photo boxes. If we finish class with 5 minutes to spare, pull out a task card! Have students work on it individually or in pairs. They are versatile and ready for any occasion.
